I know, I know! I'm a terrible blogger!! The holidays just got so very busy! Yikes!!
Just a quick update, and I'll try to come back soon and post an updated picture! Deal?
Well, at the risk of sounding repetative, I won't mention again how happy and excited I am about having this surgery!! I absolutely love it! (oh wait! There I go again!) haha! I just can't say enough about it! People used to tell me, "I'd do it all over again!", and to be honest with you.. I kind of figured they were in that category that it's just been too long and they forgot what the early days were like! Because this was my assumption, for a couple months, I totally braced myself for something they all failed to remember!!! LOL!!! But nope!! Still loving it!! It's the best thing I ever did!!
For those of you getting ready to have surgery... It's a wild ride! Depending on how you do with surgery will, of course, decide what the first few weeks will be like. (I had no complications! But there are some small setbacks like stenosis that I must give an honerable mention) but once you are through the recovery phase, you will enter something like a "euphoria" phase! It's amazing to watch/feel that weight falling off! I went from a good hefty size 18..and in 4 months I'm in a size 10 (some 8's)!!! I've lost 65 lbs and it's still coming off! My goal is 30 lbs to go, and I feel so blessed and fortunate to be 30 lbs from my goal in only 4 months!!!
EVERYTHING changes! I've already mentioned the obvious dress sizes... But I went from a size 10 shoe to a 7 1/2 - 8! My ring size went from a very tight 7 1/2 to a loose 5 1/2! I'm talking everything! Not to mention energy levels, moods, marriage, etc!!! All for the good!!!!
It's an Awesome ride!!!
Buh-bye for now!!

Thanks Brooke for encouraging me. I can't wait!!!
ReplyDeleteLove ya
Happy New Year, Brooke! So happy for you - would love to see you!!
ReplyDeleteOk, so I went to my doctor today...man, Canada sucks for this part of it!!! LOL! The referal for the surgeon can take up to a year then another year for the surgery to actually happen! So frustrating! But he is enrolling me in the weight loss clinic to jumpstart me before the surgery-it's a very slow process, so we'll see what happens...he says he's putting me on the referal list today so I am praying that I can maybe get in on a cancellation or something!
ReplyDeleteBrooke! I found your blog while reading another person's and I've added you to my favs! My surgery is scheduled for Feb 2nd. I'm having a bit of a difficult time with negative thoughts right now! Is that pretty normal before hand? In Dec. when I finished all of my screening and classes and whatnot (that was required before surgery) I was totally ready, now since it's been so long I dont' feel quite so ready. Any advice?
ReplyDeleteWendy, I didn't have very long of a wait, (barely 1 month, almost to the day, from my first appointment) so I don't know for sure if negativity "normally" creeps up, if you have alot of time to think about it all.
ReplyDeleteBut I will tell you one thing... (you can read about this earlier in my blog), I learned EARLY on that there was a whole lot of negativity to be passed out about this surgery!! (Everyone has heard "a story" and they all feel the need to share!) So if the negativity is coming from things you've heard from others, you have to block it all out! It will come from everywhere and in every form! I was told by a friend to not even tell anyone before surgery... I soon found out why! So surround yourself with positivity and know that you are making a GREAT step for yourself and for your health!! I can't even begin to tell you all of the positive change I've experienced.. just in 4.5 months!! So don't get bogged down!! Start counting down your days till Feb 2nd! Buckle up... you're in for a fun ride!!
PS.. do I know you, or did you just stumble onto my blog? I don't mind at all.. I just was wondering if this was by any chance this is a Wendy that I know! :)
Amy! I'm rooting for lots of cancellations!! I feel so bad for you guys up there and you're long waits!! :( I'm not very patient!! Come move to California for a year!! :) he he!!
